Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Chemical Peel and how does it work?

Peels are a chemical exfoliant usually derived from fruit acids, helping to gently remove dry, dull skin cells to reveal the softer, smoother skin underneath.  Our MesoPeels®, range from superficial, medium, and deep.

Which peel is right for me?

Peels are measured in strength by percentage.  Our experienced Skin Practitioners are here to discuss your expectations. Using our Step-Up system, they will provide you with a complete Skin Journey, helping you to achieve your skin goals in the best way possible.

Skin Analysis

During the consultation, you will complete an in-depth Skin Analysis allowing us to prescribe the correct protocol for you. This peel is used for treatment on advanced skin ageing, and uses active agents to target a range of age-related skin conditions. It acts deeply within the skin to improve the appearance of a tired, aged complexion. How many will I need?

We see the most changes in the skin after our peel courses combined with prescribed home care. That is why our protocol packages work out the best value for your money. No hidden costs, just real and honest results.

We are unable to treat anyone who hasn’t prepped their skin prior to treatment with the necessary home care. This is to prevent any reactions or restrictions of treatment on skin that isn’t used for medical-grade skincare and aesthetic treatments.

How often do I need to visit?

Most of our peel protocols are one peel every two weeks, for 12 weeks, 6 peels in total.

Our Global eyecon Protocol is weekly for six weeks, while our Cosmelan DePigmentation Peel is 2 in-clinic treatments spaced 48 hours apart, and a strict 6- 9 month at-home skincare regime. We offer something for everyone, depending on time, budget, and desired outcome.

Is it painful?

The most common question we get asked is will my skin peel off? Most of our peels are designed to be pain-free and carry minimal downtime if any.  It can be common to feel a slight heat and tingling sensation whilst the peel is on. Following this, your aesthetician will provide a cooling mask that will help to soothe, protect and hydrate your skin.

What kind of results should I expect?

Whether your concern is active acne, breakouts, or scarring, or whether you are just looking to feel fresher and brighter, even younger, we have a MesoPeel to target every concern.

After our Lactic and Glycolic peels, expect glowing, radiant and hydrated skin, with a smoother tone and texture.

After our Acnelan courses, clients have reported a massive reduction in cystic and comedonal acne, scarring, open pores, and overall cleanliness of the skin.

How quickly can results be seen?

Results can be seen in as little as two weeks but will continue to improve throughout the course of peels with best results at 3 months following full treatment and homecare.

Is there any downtime?

Most of our Peels are non-invasive, showing no signs of any side effects, however, some clients may experience slight peeling, redness, or dryness. Fast skin repair by Mesoestetic is to be applied to the skin to significantly reduce any peeling or irritation.

We recommend you continue to avoid any self-tan, AHA’s, BHA’s, and Retinols for up to 14 days post peel. Also exercise and heat treatments i.e sunbeds and saunas, waxing, and threading is not advisable for 14 days post peel treatment, or until the skin is fully intact and healed.

Can I wear make-up after?

We recommend waiting 48 hours after the procedure for any makeup application, however, you can wear mineral makeup immediately after should you need to.

We recommend Lightwater veil 50+ or Melan Tinted 130+ by Mesoestetic® as a make-up replacement. They must be applied 1-2 times per day continuously after treatment to protect the skin. Products are inclusive of our Peel Protocol Package.

How long will it last?

This all depends on how well you adhere to your aftercare. If you follow your homecare provided, peels can be a continuous anti-ageing tool and results can be seen up to 12 months post-procedure.  Remember the 80 /20 rule (80% of results seen are from what you do at home yourself using homecare and SPF, 20% percent are in-clinic treatments).

Can I combine these treatments?

Yes! Peels can be combined with Dermapen Microneedling®, Mesotherapy, Dermalux LED Phototherapy®, and many more. Just ask your practitioner for more information during the consultation.

Which protocol shall I choose?

Please do not worry, we are here to help you. Treatment plans can be decided during an in-depth skin analysis with our skin health professionals. Our protocols are designed to give you the best value for your money, as home care products can add up, remember your skin is an investment.

Did you know that over 40% percent of the clientele are using incorrect homecare due to misdiagnosed skin types, that is why our experienced professionals are here to help you make the right decision.
